DIANETICS AFTER NOTs

(Research Notes)

In theory, when an individual runs basic on a chain to erasure, all later locks, secondaries and engrams erase along with the basic engram. When we continue running basic incidents to erasure, we eventually locate and run basic-basic to erasure and we have a Clear, since, in theory, ALL later locks, secondˇaries and engrams erase when basic erases. In this case it is basic-basic to the whole time track and, therefore, entire time track for the individual should erase right up to present time. Also, in theory, the PC should be free of the compulsion to create a time track.

Now the person is a Clear, but is somewhat at risk because if we continue to run him on Dianetics or even Grades at this point, we could wake up and restimulate Body Thetans and Clusters; the theory being that he has gotten rid of his own charge and now has the power and awareness to kick in entities and groups of entities.

The solution to this problem is to get the person up through OT III and NOTs so that he has the tech to handle his entity case. Once he has completed New OT VII, all entities are now gone and that should be the end of negative case gain and the end of his case. Now he goes on to creative processing at OT VIII.

I have made some observations that indicate that this may not always be true. In theory it is, but in actual fact, it may not be true.

The original rule that you don't run Dianetics on a Clear came from LRH himself. In the late 70's, LRH was being run on his newly developed New Era Dianetics (NED) and it was found that the more Dianetics he received, the sicker and more restimulated he got.

With the help of David Mayo, it was discovered that his Body Thetan and Cluster mass was getting more restimulated by Dianetics. This situation led to the discovery of New Era Dianetics for OT's, or NOTs for short. It was found that an OT III completion has additional BT's and Clusters and if Dianetics is run on such an individual, the pictures are misowned by [the] various BT's [and Clusters], leading to more and more bypassed¬charge.

By using the newly developed NOTs procedure, the BT's and Clusters were located and blown. This led to an improvement in the LRH's case and his subsequent injunction against using Dianetics on a Clear.

It should be remembered that LRH was in extremely bad case shape at this time as has been revealed by Otto Roos in his lengthy debrief. LRH had a long history of experimental solo auditing and scores of poorly run or incomplete actions spanning two decades, with a massive amount of bypassed-charge un-handled. This situation could have been a contributing factor in his bad experience with Dianetics.

It should also be noted that prior to this time, many Pre-OT's were run on Dianetics at AO's and elsewhere with great success and case gain. This can be easily confirmed by talking to some of the Pre-OT's who were audited on Dianetics in pre 1978 period. Some, of course, needed NOTs and the running of more Dianetics was a wrong action simply because the Dianetics did not handle the correct bypassed-charge due to the problem of ownerˇship. Many, however, did run excellently and did experience relief and case gain. Perhaps LRH's injunction against Dianetics was premature and applied only to some cases and some situations.

The rule of not running Dianetics on Pre-OT's extends to the area of assists for losses, injuries and operations. Last year after experiencing the heavy loss of a close family member and ally, I was given an assist using the correct and standard NOT's procedures for such a situation. I noticed that after the completion of this assist, which was done expertly and well, I got relief, but I still felt a lot of shame, blame, regret and griefy emotion whenever I would think of this person. Hardly a complete assist.

Finally, in desperation I asked my wife to [help me] run out this incident Dianetically. Boy, what a session! After over an hour of classic secondary running, I came out the other side with the charge blown and a feeling of deep down relief. I might also note here that I have not had a skimpy grade chart as I have had over 400 hours of excellent processing on Dianetics, Grades, Power, etc. I was running very well on NOTs with lots of charge blowing, and I am now a NOTs completion.

The NOTs procedures did not cut it for this magnitude of secondary, and plain old fashioned Dianetics did. I cannot help but think that there have been other Pre-OT's who have been denied a good Dianetic secondary assist and are still out there walking around loaded with mis-emotion which just wasn't gotten to with a standard NOTs assist.

Recently another NOTs completion had to have two crowns on her rear teeth. After the dental work was complete, we did a standard Dianetic assist running the incident R-3-R(a) narrative, four flows. It turned out to be a perfect textbook session with all pain blown.

The new theory that I would like to introduce here is that due to the incredibly large number of engrams on the whole track, the erasure of basic-basic does not always cause all later engrams to erase.

In some individuals, there may be portions of the track uninspected and left charged up after the state of Clear is attained. This does not invalidate the state of Clear and, of course, no further Dianetics would be run at that time. The standard action of moving the new clear up through OT III and NOTs is certainly the proper action.

In addition, engrams and secondaries experienced after the state of Clear may form new time track for the individual. For this reason, I feel that a person in the NOTs area of the Bridge could benefit from the running of Dianetics as an assist action, given that this ownership of charge is first established, and, with a NOTs-24 list close at hand.

Once all available BT and Clusters are blown at the point of a NOTs completion, it might be advisable to take the Pre-OT up through the Grade-Chart on a verify, rehab or run action. Grades which are not fully in, could be put in and if further BT's and Clusters show up at any point, they could be handled appropriately.

The running of Dianetics after a NOTs completion may not be appropriate for all blow any remaining charge on their own time track. It would be a welcomed action where they get to blow any remaining charge on their own time track. Of course, any worsening of a Pre-OT's case would be good reason to take him/her off Dianetics by way of a repair and rehab action.

The first step of OT VIII is the OT VIII Rundown (same as the old OT IV Rundown). At this point where the entire Grade-Chart is verified, actions such as LX Lists, NED and XDN could be inserted. Careful attention to the ownership of items should be maintained.

Perhaps, by putting Dianetics on the shelf for post NOTs Pre-OT's, we are denying them completion on their own time track and the subsequent gains of a true Dianetic Case Completion.
